Gibson Skylark Tremolo GA-5T (1962)
Gibson Skylark Tremolo GA-5T (1962)
These early 1960s Skylark amps are just fantastic. While the Fenders from this period get most of the limelight, these Gibson's can go toe to toe with any Champ from that era. And of course this one has the "T" for "Tremolo" and what a tremolo it is! This is a favourite 5 Watter. The particular amp had been badly re-capped, which we sorted out during our routine service. The non-original speaker was knackered so we installed the astonishing 8" Alnico beast that is the Warehouse G8A. This has given it a load of bottom end that it probably never had before. Other than this, we think its original, even down to the handle and feet. Missing back panel. Requires a stepdown transformer to operate at UK voltages.
